A Taste Of Summer

We just got back from a very busy 5 days of fun!Clay and I went to Mesquite for a few days to celebrate our anniversary. We left all the rainstorms here to go where it was hot and sunny!Even though it is in the desert it feels like a tropical place with the palm trees and their beautiful pool.So we just pretend! We spent our days by the pool relaxing. At night we tried our luck on our favorite penny slot machines. We are not big gamblers by any means but can play on $20 for about 2 hours and have a lot of fun!Of course eating is always a BIG part of our vacaction and there were plenty of choices. We then went to St.George to meet up with Shantel, Nate, Talan and Brittany. My parents were in Salt Lake taking care of my brothers kids so they gave us the use of their home. They live in a golf course community and it is beautiful.Their backyard has a pond and waterfall along with palm trees. It is always very relaxing to go there. We had fun watching Talan try the pool out which he loved. He is now walking everywhere and thought it was neat that he could walk all over because there are no stairs.Saturday night we had over my sister and brother who live there for a barbecue. My sweet mother had stocked the fridge with meat for the barbecue and had even made a potatoe salad for it.She truly is the best. Thanks Mom again for everything! We had such a nice time seeing everyone.

Redneck Wedding

Clay and I are celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary today, but we have been together for 32 years! It feels like a lifetime. It's hard for me to remember a time when we weren't together. We have gone through a lot in our 28 years of marriage. There have been times when one or the other wanted to say I quit but those times have been very few. To have married as young as we did and still be together is a testament to our love for each other. I owe a lot to Clay with his "half full glass" and "no worries" attitude, he has kept me sane.....well almost! I still get excited when I hear him pull in the garage at night. So for two teenagers that fell in love it really was the real deal! Our wedding reception was in Idaho, in the gym of our church. Even though they call it a cultral hall it is still where they play basketball! When it was all said and done it looked pretty. Now my wedding line was a different matter. My mother-in-law Linda had a one year old running around and was about 7 months pregnant! My best friend Lori was 8 months pregnant and I made her hold a parasol! Only in Idaho!!
